A joint headshot with Taiko drummer and percussionist Jonathan and vocalist Matthew was needed for their upcoming CD as well as general promo work. Although the brief was for shots to be supplied in mono they (to my eyes at least) work as well as the original colour files.
We took a number of shots though all with fundamentally the same symmetrical lighting which was a long strip soft-box each side of the frame. We took ‘smiling’ shots as well though as ever the non-smiling images allow a range of interpretations.
It’s great working with two people in this way, with the similar lighting applied equally to each sitter.
